SPE-UTP-SC stands for Society of Petroleum Engineers of Universiti Tecknologi PETRONAS student chapter. SPE-UTP-SC is affiliated to the Society of Petroleum Engineers(SPE) International which currently has 131 student chapters in 42 countries world-wide.

SPE-UTP-SC was establish in 2005. Up to date, it has 350 members and its membership is open to all students regardless of the course they pursue. To add on, we have successfully organized visits to SPE-UTM-SC (Johor), the Shell Inter-Varsity Student Paper Presentation Contest, we have held public lecturers regarding oil and gas by invited speakers from renoun oil and gas companies, we have also manage to hold seminars to enhance the knowledge of the students and also to increase their interest in Petroleum Engineering

Since 2005 until present, numerous activities associated with oil and gas industry have been carried out successfully e.g. career talks, technical talks, visit to plants and oil and gas symposium. Early this year of 2007, SPEUTPSC has been given the green light to organize its first ever Oil and Gas Symposium 2007 (OGS). The OGS 2007 had marked another greatest achievement in the SPEUTPSC’s milestone. SPEUTPSC is anticipated for the coming OGS in 2009 with more exhibitors and participant from other universities.
